Global Business Mobility Routes has replaced T2 Intra-Company Transfer (T2 ICT) migrant visa since 11 April 2022.  Global Business Mobility Route visa is for a multinational business who need to be sent their existing employee to work in the UK for training or fill in a specific role.  The employer is required to have a Global Business Mobility Route (GBM Route) sponsor licence to be able to issue a certificate of sponsorship for the employee to apply for Global Business Mobility Route visa to work in the UK. 


There is time limited for a skilled worker under Global Business Mobility Route. Senior or Specialist Worker (previous known as a long term staff ) with salary less than £73,900 a year can stay in the UK 5 years in any 6 year period and 9 years in any 10 year period for the salary is £73,900 a year or more.



There are five categories under Global Business Mobility Route visa:

 

  • Senior or Specialist workers
  • Graduate Trainee
  • UK expansion workers
  • Service suppliers
  • Secondment Workers

 

Requirements for a Senior or Specialist workers to come to the UK:

 

  • have worked for your company for more than 12 months or 
  • Salary is above £73900. 
  • have a valid certificate of sponsorship for your job
  • be paid an ‘appropriate salary’ for your job
  • have personal savings so you can support yourself when you arrive in the UK, or 
  • your employer certify the maintenance. 
  • have tuberculosis tested if you are from one of the countries required. 

 

Requirements for a Graduate trainee to come to the UK

 

  • be a recent graduate 
  • at least 3 months’ experience with your employer overseas.
  • have a valid certificate of sponsorship for your job
  • be paid an ‘appropriate salary’ for your job
  • have personal savings so you can support yourself when you arrive in the UK, or 
  • your employer certify the maintenance. 
  • have tuberculosis tested if you are from one of the countries required


Requirements for UK Expansion Workers:


  • be currently working for the sponsor group; and
  • have worked outside the UK for the sponsor group for a cumulative period of at least 12 months, unless the applicant is either:
  1. applying as a high earner; or
  2. a Japanese national seeking to establish a UK branch or subsidiary of the sponsor group under the UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
  • have a valid certificate of sponsorship for your job
  • be paid an ‘appropriate salary’ for your job
  • a genuine need for the job as described; and
  • whether the applicant has the appropriate skills, qualifications and experience needed to do the job as described; and
  • the sponsor’s history of compliance with the immigration system including, but not limited to, paying its sponsored workers appropriately; and
  • any additional information from the sponsor.
