If your application is unfortunately refused by UK Visas and Immigration, there are two options to make an appeal against the UKVI's refusal decision. If your appeal is allowed by the Immigration Judge, your refusal will be overturned. If your appeal is dismissed by the Immigration Judge, you are still be able to challege the First Tier Tribunal and get the permission to appeal to the Upper Tier Tribunal. It means you make an appeal by writing, you will not be able to see the immigration Judges. it costs you £80.
2. Oral Hearing
It means you make an appeal by oral hearing, you will be able to see the immigration Judge and give the evidences in front of the immigration judge. It costs you £140.
